dm2architecture were commissioned to design eight timber framed holiday cabins to replace existing holiday shacks on the shores of Lake Weyba, Noosa Queensland. Stringent development controls on the site required a lateral approach to the design of the site and the cabins to maximize the site’s potential for the client group.
The 2 bedroom cabins were designed and sited to maximize aspect, views and cross flow ventilation while maintaining privacy and sanctuary. The cabins also had to present an aesthetic sympathetic with their immediate bush surrounds while evoking a relaxed style akin with the original summer shacks they were replacing. The site was fully serviced with a standalone waste system and water supply.
