The One Bed ‘Studio’ Display Unit represents the first built prototype that was to provide a benchmark for development of an Eco-Living Community in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The ‘Studio’, project team worked to explore economical building strategies that could be implemented for future construction on the site that also had to consider lifecycle and energy efficiency, both in general consumption and embodied energy while enhancing and protecting the natural asset of the site itself. A key element to the successful approach came with the decision to pre-fabricate the building off-site and to then transport and assemble it on site with minimum on-site work and disturbance.
