Gray Rd

Projects / Residential

In a small pocket of homes where boundary fences are omitted, chooks roam free and the neighbourhood children permeate between the internal & external spaces of the home; the additions sought to strengthen these values and connections between the living areas of the house with the rear garden whilst taking full advantage of the favourable orientation and principles of passive solar design.

Projects / Residential

The project consisted of alterations and additions to the rear of a modest workers cottage in Brisbane’s West End. The extension contains a small open plan sitting area and kitchen on the upper level while the guest suite and rumpus areas below spill directly into the garden. A terrace pergola along the Western side coupled with a deep eaves overhang permits regulating of the western sun by natural means and deciduous plantings from the edible vegie patch.
