Royal Roma Hotel, Roma

The Royal Hotel Roma, which was located on the North Eastern corner of Hawthorne and McDowell Streets in Roma, was burnt down in November 2014. The new hotel design is intended to create a building of similar scale, articulation and vernacular, to replace the burnt down structure.

The proposed building frontages are articulated through the introduction of arbour frames and veranda decks. As opposed to the traditional enclosed hotel interior, the Royal Hotel Roma opens up the street, enabling patrons an awareness of the various functions within the interior, and conveying the level of activity within.
