DM2 Architecture worked with the licensee and McDonald’s Australia at the Palmerston store in the Northern Territory to build upon its existing strong sales to plan for future growth in the region.
The works included additional seating through an expansion of the dining room and McCafe. The high volumes and picture window of the McCafe addition creates a strong visual change to the exterior that draws attention to the restaurant internals. This McCafe form is repeated and its scale increased on the opposite side of the store to accommodate a new 5m high covered playland. Between these bookends is a small open air terrace and dining spaces which have also undergone a full décor reimage.
Operationally, the sales, McCafe and drive thru platforms were reconfigured for greater efficiency as a result of the addition of the dual lane Drive thru.
Having been open for a couple of months the store is experiencing continual growth and favourable comments from its patrons and operators.
