Gladys Street Units, Greenslopes

Fronting a park, this wide narrow block has been separated into five buildings linked by a vertical transport hub. This approach provides space for views through the development, while stepping of the building from centre to East and West maintains harmony with the existing landscape.

The final development consists of 56 one storey and two storey units made up of variations of 2.5, 2 and 1 bedroom designs, which feed up and down off the two public access floors. This arrangement allows for the majority of units to benefit from street and park frontage, while providing cross flow ventilation.

The use of off form concrete shell construction provides an insulation for the units, allowing the use of full-height recessed windows which permit maximum natural light.
The basement and on-grade parking areas provide secure storage for cars and bikes.
