Client: Griffith University
Supporting an innovative research agenda for the University, this program of work involved refurbishment and upgrade to two laboratories featured as part of a broader laboratory redevelopment within the N55 building at Nathan campus. The Atmospheric Environment Research Centre is a unique facility undertaking research into the impact of pollutant materials by studying samples from the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
A significant focus in design was to provide a clean space devoid of PVC based construction materials. As a result, extensive research was undertaken to determine specific construction methods which utilised low volatile organic compound materials. This lead to the creation of a glass box and incorporated stainless steel fume cupboards to ensure that the impact of pollutants was minimised during the testing process.
