DM2 architecture were engaged to undertake a review of the current teaching facilities in Level 1 of the heritage listed Forgan Smith Building with the view of aligning the existing spaces with desired pedagogy models. The resulting project delivered a 180 seat lecture theatre, two collaborative seminar rooms and areas for quiet individual and small group study whilst Integrating existing elements of cultural significance into the refurbishment of the University’s first lecture theatre. Collaboration with graphic artists developed artworks and storytelling of the buildings rich heritage, and the significance for future generations of students.
