Rehabilitating buildings deemed to be at the “end of life” is becoming a speciality of DM2. In this project we worked with the client to unlock the untapped potential of the old building. A new circulation was created to address accessibility requirements and enhance floor plate leasing. The new core borrows from existing garden atrium zones to improve ambiance and natural light throughout the building. The exterior of the building was stripped back to the primary structure and articulated with new cladding systems and a reorganised entrance zone integrating contemporary protective awnings, screening and signage located over hard and soft landscape elements to reinvigorate its street presentation. The project was completed with a facelift, contemporising and increasing the street appeal of the building.
