Seale Street Residence

Through sympathetic alterations and additions designed to make the most of Darwin’s tropical climate, DM2 Architecture transformed an existing 1970’s residence to create a sanctuary for occupants wanting to be acutely aware of their surroundings throughout the seasons.

Accommodating desires to retreat, entertain and host friends and family, separate office spaces enable an enviable live/work balance and allow flexible as needs alter in the future.A solid street presentation contrasts the openness and transparency of the internal living areas of the home. These are sculpted from the perceived mass creating

a delicate layering of spaces and materials which blur boundaries between interior and exterior. Undertaken with a collaborative spirit, the DM2 Architecture team relished the challenge to evolve the property for the next generation while realising the client’s goals in creating this finely crafted residence.
